For nature loving, eco-friendly mamas like me this is a perfect, chemical free (for the most part) addition to your son or daughter's toy collection! It was smaller than I thought which is a good thing and has a very easy to grip trunk to hold on to. I haven't yet had a child shake it and hit themselves in the head with the leaves, but I would say that would be a definite possibility as the leaves are very large (almost the size of the trunk) and could hurt if a child were to hit themselves with it, but then again most toys would when shaken).
Great toy overall, would buy again. There are a lot of places to suck on or chew, and it is very cute and sends a great message early on! Protecting nature but getting wooden toys, loving birds and trees :)

This rattle is adorable, however there are 2 leaves on it that seem like Baby would knock himself pretty hard. If he gets going slamming it around I know it would result in a bump on the head- in order to avoid this I am returning.

This thing is cute. I think for smaller ages like my son whos 4 months old its fine.. because all he tries to do is suck on it.. but once they get a little older and start to actually shake it, OUCH. I tried it to make sure it was safe.. Its not the leaves will hit your hands and whatever other body part on your child and it hurts.. alot.
Very hard and theyre too long.
So if thyre only in the, I want to try eat everything in site stage its fine.. but once they start to shake things, id just not let them play with it anymore.

I bought this hoping that it would be a nice rattle - it's made of wood and sure looked pretty. Unfortunately, nearly everything functional about it is wrong - mostly due to the wooden "leaves". I assumed they were supposed to make a woody-knocking sound as they slapped together... but I couldn't find *any* way to shake the thing so that they would actually strike each other. The only thing they'd hit is my hand while I tried to shake them. And the leaves are so heavy that when little hands hold the rattle it twists their wrist in one way or another. I loved the shape of the handle and the vibrant colors (why I couldn't give the item 1 star), but it's much better left on the ground to look at as we only had injuries trying to use the thing.

I bought this toy for my little one, as I like the fact that it was wooden, and looked like a tree. But it is definitely too big and too heavy for his little hand. The two wooden leaf are really getting on the way and he tends to knock himself with them. I think they were supposed to make a sounds when knocking each other, but it doesn't.
My older kid (which would be big enough to carry this heavy rattle) don't find any interest in it..
So overall.. really useless..
