Amazing Rice CookerSep 01, 2010 After reading the reviews for many of the rice cookers on Amazon I decided that it was time to upgrade my old on/off rice cooker with a fuzzy logic model. I knew that a computerized rice cooker would be much better but I didn't realize how much better. I have had my rice cooker for a week now and have used it just about everyday with amazing results. I had butternut squash risotto from the cooker for lunch, dinner, and breakfast the following day since it was so good. I highly recommend this cooker for anyone looking to upgrade. Just a word of clarification though...The product says it is a 5.5 cup cooker. This refers to uncooked rice. When cooked the final result is 11 cups of rice. I had a hard time figuring this out when I was shopping since the description doesn't give this detail anywhere.

Disappointing - it broke after 7 weeksJun 23, 2010 We have been very disappointed with this rice cooker. We used it about 10 times in total to cook rice (usually overcooked and mushy) and once to boil eggs (which came out overcooked and rubbery). I admit I do not have a lot of experience using a rice cooker, but we ordered it only 7 weeks ago and tonight it is dead. I called their customer service department and they will give me an address to ship it to for repair, but that will take 10-14 business days. In the meantime, we purchased this to help us get by during our kitchen renovation. Based on our negative experience I would say this is unreliable and I would not recommend this rice cooker.

So far,so goodJun 01, 2010 Bought a couple weeks back, wife is happy, and all is well.Kind of disappointed that it was made in China though, figured it would be made in Japan for the price.Hope it outlasts the 20 dollar Oster model my wife enjoyed for 15 years,I was beginning to think that that thing was going to outlive me.I would have given it 5 stars had it been made in Japan.
Make Great RiceMay 06, 2010 This rice cooker is a bit to small for the size of my family of 4 and since we love rice. However, it cooks great rice to perfection.

Amazing!Apr 23, 2010 I'm Japanese and I eat rice A LOT, and many people are very picky about rice in general. I used to have a cheap basic rice cooker with bare minimum functions (cooks rice, steam veggie-which I don't, keep warm), as a result of being a poor student. However I don't think I will never go back to those basic ones after I experienced how rice should be made and taste using this rice cooker! Really, it's worth paying for a great rice cooker like this.
My favorite feature is that it makes an excellent short-grain brown rice. I do love white short-grain rice (a.k.a. sushi rice), but I alternate with short-grain brown rice sometimes. Usually, brown rice takes forever to cook, and it's much drier than short-grain white rice, and it's hard to eat those non-sticky rice with chopsticks (I can't separate rice and chopsticks!). But this machine makes the most fluffy and moist brown rice I have ever had! And I just set the timer in the morning, and I never have to wait all night for the brown rice to be cooked! My fiance and roommate were truly surprised with the result too.
I haven't used the Tofu making function, but I am very excited about that too. It'll be fun to make fun tofu!
