5Great bottles, no leaks here!Sep 02, 2010
We loved these bottles for our now 3 1/2 year old daughter and love them still. We've never had problems with leaks, even with the older design bottles. We've tried a few brands and these are by far our favorite. They are easy to use and are not a pain to clean. I highly recommend them.

5Why the bad reviews?Sep 01, 2010
When I was pregnant I did no research on bottles or formula because I was going to exclusively breastfeed my baby and I was going to be a stay at home mom. However, I had some hormonal issues that made it impossible to do so and it quickly became apparent I had to supplement my baby with formula. I had Medela bottles only, the ones that worked with the Medela pump. So, that's what I was using. My baby would take about one hour to finish his milk on the Medela bottles and often fell asleep before he was done with the correct portion of milk. I figured I should get new bottles and my sister had used the AVENT.

So, I got the AVENT bottles. It worked like a charm. He took his milk in half the time and often I would top him off with breastfeeding with absolutely no problem of nipple confusion. These bottles have never leaked for me, so I am baffled as to why so many reviews call them leaky. I have not tried Dr. Brown's bottles because they look complicated. Some of the AVENT bottles come with an extra attachment for the top of the bottle. I figured out how to use the attachment in like 2 seconds. The advanced don't have that extra part, so they are a bit simpler. Nipples come off easily for cleaning. The material also looks quite durable, although you don't use the nipples for long. They have the 0+ month nipples, the 3+ month nipples, and 6+month nipples. The other thing I like about these bottles is that you can buy the variable flow nipples for the baby is ready for cereal in his milk or if your baby has GERD and needs the cereal early. All you do is turn the bottle to increase or decrease the flow (read the variable flow nipple insert).

We have been using Avent bottles for a year now.
This one was as expected and works like a charm.

1Leak EVERYWHERE - what happened to the old generation Avent?Aug 26, 2010
These bottles are infuriating! I used Avent bottles and products with my first three children and never had a complaint. In fact, I used to recommend them to all of my friends. However, with all the hype about BPA, we decided to get rid of our old Avent plastic bottles and purchase the "new and improved" non-BPA ones. BIG MISTAKE! Something is really wrong with the venting system in these new bottles. They leak constantly all over everything and make a huge mess. Sometimes, I'll get the lid on correctly and it won't leak, but then it's impossible to figure out what I did to get it on right. There seams to be some sort of silicone flap on the underside of the nipple. If this flap comes in perfect contact with the neck of the bottle as you are screwing on the cap, then it won't leak. I still haven't been able to get it to work correctly. Who needs such a headache with twins?

We have since switched to Evenflo Classic glass bottles. They are a fraction of the price, recyclable, super easy to clean, non-BPA, and sturdy. We haven't had any leak issues with these, and that makes for peaceful midnight feedings with the babies.

Avent needs to go back to the drawing board. I still love their formula caddy and bottle warmer, though!

1NOT SEALED!!!!Aug 24, 2010
A few months before I bought this, I already bought 3 Avent teethers for my baby girl. When I got them, the package easily detaches and open. I just shrugged it off thinking that maybe it was damaged on its way here (manila). But when I bought 2 sets of this Avent bottles, I was really disappointed because it wasn't even sealed. It just came with its box that has no plastic cover or sealer on it.It is a baby product and just like any other baby products, care must be given and this must be totally sealed to ensure that it is clean and has not been used.
