 MUST HAVE ITEM for 1st time parents!Jul 24, 2010
I odered this timer when I was still in the hospital after having our daughter because it didn't take very long for us to realize that trying to keep track of everything on paper was exhausting. It was waiting for us when we got home, and we both love it! Most of the time, I didn't even know what time the last time was that she ate or was changed, just how long it had been. It's so useful for those fussy times when you're trying to figure out what baby needs. I really love this product for anytime that I went outside our home. I was able to plan trips to the grocery store better because I knew approximately how long I had until my daughter would want to eat again, and I could set the alarm so I wouldn't lose track of time. It made any outting so much smoother and enjoyable because you aren't constantly looking for a clock to know how much time you have to get something done. Do yourself a favor if your expecting, and get one of these to have from day one!

I bought this item for my absentminded husband and ended up using it myself. It came in handy in the early weeks to keep track of the time in between feedings. We haven't used the timers much but may do so later on. Its a nice product to make you feel like you have some kind of idea how your baby is doing with sleeping and feeding. I noticed that I don't use it as much as I used to and my baby is about three months old. It was a life saver in the first month and completely worth the money spent on it. My husband and I did sleeping turns and we used the extra timer at the bottom to time eachothers sleep to make sure we both got enough. I love the night light. It came in handy when feeding the baby at night, it is really bright so I always pointed it up at the ceiling. You can tell they really thought about the features. The lock feature is nice to you don't hit a button on accident. I think its a great buy.

I love the itzbeen! It works well for us. Somedays we have two or three family members watching the baby and this makes for a smooth transition and helps us keep him on schedule. Definitely a worth while product!

I have used this for my last two kids...and I couldn't live without it. I find it the most useful in the hospital when you have no clue wether you are coming or going..AND you can time how long you have slept and most importantly, when you can get your next dose of pain meds. The nurses don't always come with them unless you ask, and if you look at your timer, you can tell if you are ready to receive them. Saves so much hassel! When you are home, it's also so useful since the baby is sleeping alot and you may not know (esp. if you have other kids) how long it's been since the last feeding and if you have to wake the baby or not. Of course you are still feeding ondemand, but my babies always slept thru alot of the feedings so I would know it would be time to wake them up. My baby and I had a bad blood interaction and his bilirubin went thru the roof, and the timer helped me realize he was really being sleepy even when I would use all the tricks to wake him up. I was so busy with the other kids I wouldn't have known how long it was.
I am also using it to help me realizw how many hours of sleep sI am getting at night. Again, I have to get up with the other kids, and I can't sleep with the baby, so the timer is PRICELESS in helping me know how long I've been asleep. The nightlight and backlight are so helpful. I keep the timer in my pocket of my "brestfriend" nursing pillow or hooked onto my waist. I LOVE THIS THING.
My first one was defective, and I emailed the company and they sent me a crand new one that works BETTER with no questions asked. They were FABULOUS. I hated the days I lived wihtout it. I have too many other things going on and this helps me keep track. highly recommended!

My wife just gave birth to our first child two weeks ago. In the hospital, we were fumbling around with a clipboard and watch, trying to figure out when we had done the last diaper change and the last feeding. We made math errors and had to scribble out our mistakes and recalculate. It was a major pain. When we got home, my wife remembered that one of our friends had given us an Itzbeen Timer a few months earlier, because she had two. Well, it quickly became clear that this device was going to save us a great deal of hassle and frustration.
Rather than trying to decipher our lousy handwriting, do math, and track everything by hand, the Itzbeen timer keeps track of everything for us. My wife carries that thing around and just presses the appropriate button to indicate the beginning of a new feeding (with the helpful left/right switch), the length of a nap, and the time since the last diaper change. It also has a little flashlight function, which has been helpful for night-time diaper changes without having to turn on the blinding overhead lights. Frankly, it's one corkscrew short of a Swiss-army knife, or at least the infant's version. Obviously, new parents have functioned for centuries without the Itzbeen Timer, so it's hardly essential. But it's been a wonderful blessing to simplify this new season in our lives, and I'm happy to recommend it to anyone looking for a helpful tool to make sure baby is dry, well-fed, and well-rested.
