Good Cause-and-Effect Tool, and Baby Loves ItJul 24, 2009 My son received this when he was born. Once he was about 6 months old, this became his favorite toy. I like that he has to do certain things to get each specific sound, it really does help him understand cause and effect. For instance, when he finally found the "song" "button," he was ecstatic. What is nice though, is he does have to find it, which at first was a challenge, and whenever he did manage it, he'd be so proud he would look up and grin from ear to ear. That was when he was 6 months old. Now he's 10 months old, and very good at finding the sounds he wants. I do agree with the negative review about the sounds being obnoxious. They are. However, my son really enjoys them, so I'll let it go. But literally this morning, my nanny and I were commiserating about the stupid baby songs we get stuck in our heads, and hers was the ba-ba-do-ba-ba-bah from this, so bear that in mind. But it is much better than some noise-making toys (like the fisher price bongo drum-set, DON'T buy that) that just go on and on without your baby having to do hardly anything to elicit the response. This and the fisher price piano are the best electronic toys we have, and the only ones we kept. The others seem to be geared at distracting the kids (which they do admirably), without making them do anything, very similar really to TV, when you think about it.

julian's bandFeb 14, 2009 purchased this for my nephew julian. He spends alot of time playing with it. Seems to be musically inclined. He even has to have it when he is eating.I would reccommend this toy .
Great toy!Jan 11, 2009 My son loves this toy. He loves to make noise and this toy responds with talking and music when he plays with it. It's durable and very well made.
Unique, fun, and it makes a great gift!Jan 06, 2009 We got this for my niece because my brother is a drummer. After she opened it, both she and my daughter played with it and loved it. All the little parts are on springs, so when pulled they bounce around and make fun drum/music sounds. There are some drum songs and a bit of "singing," but I didn't find it obnoxious like some toys. It also lights up to the music, which is a definite attention grabber. All-in-all I think this is a great toy. I was so happy to find it!
