4One of my Fave BUT baby Outgrows Too QuicklyFeb 24, 2010
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3747YDJ3XYP8B I got mine second-hand so its a big plus. It does have its uses, though for a short time.

My 4-month-old baby's using it for two months. And it has helped us when we eat dinner, in and out of the house. We prop her on the Bumbo and place her in the middle of the table watching her. This is a good alternative to carrying her. My baby gets bored laying on her back, she has to see everything upright or else she'll be cranky.

We have used it in restaurants. Again, we just put her on top of the table with her toy on the BUmbo.

We have the table chair for her, but she's too young for that. The Bumbo is good because it cushions her fragile body, contoured to her pudgy shape.

Can I live without it? Sure, but I'd have to carry her or lay her back on the couch. With the Bumbo, she can watch me cook while she's across the room on the floor.

She loves it when i push her on the Bumbo, gliding across the floor like a car.

Yes, she's outgrowing it very quickly. If you have a chubby baby, it'll be sooner. like in the video, she's finding some movements to get herself out when she's bored.

Highly recommended for babies less than 6 months and those who want join their parents to restaurants or grandmas place.

I'll use this when I feed her fisrt cereal meal, I'll keep you posted if she'll stay put. chao!

3Nice chair, but didn't work for usFeb 11, 2010
I was excited about trying out this chair - I'm sure it would be perfect for others, but unfortunately this one seemed too small for my 3 month old (I didn't notice, are there different sizes?) and the snugness didn't work for him - he has a "thing" about being constrained and that seems to include this chair. I also thought the back should be a little taller as his head seemed to flop a little too much when he'd occasionally lose control, but I also think he's a little taller than the average 3 month old.

I thought the chair seemed like good quality and not too hard, though.

I'd read somewhere else where someone mentioned a safety recall on this chair & warned people not to buy it. But I have to comment - the safety recall seems to be, to me, due to lack of common sense on parents' parts, not a flaw of the product. If you read the description & instructions, it clearly states that you should NOT place your baby on an elevated surface in this chair. And you especially shouldn't leave your child unattended in the seat, either. The recall is because people are doing both of these and children are tipping over the chair and being seriously injured from falling off of tables, etc. I bought the chair, anyway, a day after reading the review & the recall because it would never occur to me to put him on a table or leave him alone in the seat. Common sense.

We use this still after 11 months. I sudjest getting the table with it. It makes early feeding really easy. Also since it is low to the ground you can set your child and it any where.

2Wonderful in theory!Dec 28, 2009
When I was pregnant with my twins last year I considered adding the Bumbo Baby Sitter to my baby registry. However, I changed my mind after reading some reviews here as they were mixed. In the meantime I was given two of these seats along with the trays as a shower gift. I was excited to receive them and couldn't wait to use them.

When my twins were 3 months or so I tried them out and they worked pretty well. However, they outgrew them very quickly (within a month or two) and it was obvious that they were uncomfortable. I agree with other reviewers that said that these seats were made for skinny babies. Even my averaged size twin got "stuck" in this seat. If I picked him up the seat would come up with him and I had to pull it off.

I also found the trays to be more trouble than they were worth. I had to put them on after putting the baby in the seat and the on/off was a pain. Finally, one of the seats tore in a few places even with minimal use. I was disapointed with the quality for an item that costs so much.

As the title says, I do believe the Bumbo is wonderful in theory. However, in my experience it just wasn't worth it. I have found bouncy seats and booster seats to be much more helpful and useful.

5A Must-Have!Dec 13, 2009
Both of our girls used our Bumbo (w/tray), and it was great! They were able to sit comfy & supported in a sitting position before they were able to sit all on their own even while they were still too small for a high chair. They were able to sit interact with us and watch how we used utensils while we ate. They weren't stuck lying on their backs anymore. I never would have bought this if I had seen it at a store. We got this as a gift, and it was one of our most treasured baby things! I think they should be selling the tray WITH the Bumbo instead of seperate. Make sure you get the tray!
