Description:

The AeroPress is an entirely new way to make coffee, American style or Espresso style for use in lattes, cappucinos and other espresso based drinks. AeroPress brews simply delicious coffee, 1-4 cups per pressing. Ideal water temperature and faster brewing yields rich flavor with lower acidity and without bitterness. Other brewing processes use near boiling water and long exposure to coffee grounds. Quickly brew a variety of coffee drinks including an Americano or an espresso-style shot for use in lattes or cappuccinos. Its total-immersion system permits extraction at a moderate temperature and a short brew time. Water and grounds are mixed together for 10 seconds, then gentle air pressure pushes the mix through a micro-filter in just 20 seconds, which avoids the bitterness of long processes such as drip brewing. The air pressure also gently squeezes the last goodness from the grounds, further enriching the flavor. The total brewing time of only 30 seconds results in an exceptionally smooth brew. The AeroPress is BPA free.

Features:

Unique coffee/espresso maker uses total immersion and gentle pressure to produce coffee with extraordinarily rich flavor

Because of the lower temperature and short brew time, the acid level of the brew is much lower than conventional brewers

5This is AMAZING! And what a bargain!Jul 30, 2010
I love this coffee maker! As I've experimented over the past few weeks with different brewing pressure, water temp and coffee beans, the thing that makes the biggest difference for me is the grind of the actual beans.

I just started drinking coffee and hadn't purchased a grinder for myself. I was afraid to grind it to 'fine/espresso' at the store when doing the whole thing at once, but I found that the water sunk through the coffee a bit quicker than it was supposed to---and wasn't leaving me with as strong a taste as I wanted.

This week, my best friend lent me her back up coffee grinder (what a good friend :) ) and I can't believe the difference it's made! I've been grinding the coffee to an incredibly fine grind the past few days and it has increased the flavor tremendously, without adding significant acidity or bitterness. I like my coffee a bit stronger (European style) so that if I do dilute it for a latte, I can still taste the actual flavors of the original coffee beans.

This is one of the few products I've loved enough to actually post a review about on amazon. You really can't go wrong! It's sturdy, travels well, only $25, comes with free shipping AND a years' worth of filters. That's pretty amazing.

5Great Coffee machine!Jul 27, 2010
This machine is great to use, excellent coffee on the first cup and many cups after. I purchased two each, one for work and one for home.

You really don't need to use the plunger for "Drip coffee" but its useful to blow the air through the coffee filter to the last coffee drop out of the machine after it drips through by gravity.
Use the plunger if you make "Expresso" it creates higher atmospheric pressure (7 to 11 atmos) using hot water at 194 to 203 Deg F (Prepare the way sweetmarias dot com website does in video).

The filters are sort of expensive AeroPress Micro-Filters, Package of 350 with the shipping,
Its best to "wash em out and flip em over" and re-use.
Another way is use any cheap cone coffee filters at WalMart ($1.00 to $1.25) and sandwich filters between 2 templates (2 1/2" diameter) with two of these templates C-Thru Jumbo-Circles Template and a X-Acto knife.

Why be a fool and pay a high price for 350 coffee filters that cost 50% of the price of the machine.

5Must have item!!!Jul 25, 2010
I've been recently exposed to this device and I wish I knew about it sooner.

I have all sorts of java juice extraction devices (to include drip, percolator, French Press, and my Saeco Super-automatic) and this $20 dollar device clobbers them when it comes to single/double servings. With the correct type of coffee and water temp, you can get the creme just like wiki image on their wiki page. This coffee is so simple and easy, I'm seriously considering selling my $600 Saeco--yes, seriously.

I currently have two, one for home, one for work and will soon have a 3rd for my suitcase.

I can't put into works how much I love this thing. If I could by stock in Aerobie I would be a 10% owner and start selling the suckers myself.

For customers looking to buy, it comes w/ 300 some filters already so you can save the extra $10 and get the press without the extra filters. I also rinse and reuse my micro-filters for the day and it tastes just the same. Go ahead... call me cheap

4Works great, but I received a used AeropressJul 24, 2010
I'm quite happy with this purchase for $22. I received my Aeropress today. I've been using those plastic Bodums from Starbucks (the ones that say "Give Up Bad Coffee For Good") for a while, and I never felt like investing in a glass one since I heard they break easily. I'm completely satisfied with the coffee produced by the Aeropress and thus with the product itself, but I'm not happy about receiving what was obviously a returned Aeropress. It was kind of dirty and the inside still smelled faintly of grounds. I wouldn't have any problem with this if the listing on Amazon said that they were refurbished. It's not really a big deal, but I'm still going to have to give four stars.

5best coffee ever!!!Jul 21, 2010
the best coffee I've ever had!!! this will save me lots of money being able to make an awesome cup of coffee at home myself, quickly and easily, rather than being tempted to go out and buy one for $3+ a cup. so happy I found it!
easy to use, FAST, and the result tastes GREAT!!!
